The Georgia Department of Public Health has communicated that there will be additional immunization requirements for students in the 2014-2015 school year. All incoming seventh grade students will now need to provide proof of a whooping cough booster and a meningococcal shot unless the child has a medical exemption on file. The Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis shot) and MCV4 (meningococcal conjugate vaccine) will help protect students against the ongoing threat of whooping cough and meningitis.
